Frequently asked
questions.
Straight answers about renting, repairing and maintaining professional videotape decks. If yours is not here, put it in an inquiry and a technician will answer.
Renting a deck
01How much does it cost to rent a professional videotape deck?
Rental starts at $99 per month per deck with a 3-month minimum and a $250 refundable deposit. Routine wear coverage and swap-in support are included.
02What counts as routine wear?
Normal wear from ordinary operation, such as belts, pinch rollers, idlers and head alignment drift, is included in the rental. Customer-caused damage, misuse and avoidable damage are billed separately. We explain the distinction before any work proceeds.
03What happens when my rented deck needs major service?
We coordinate a swap-in unit when major service takes your rented deck offline, so your digitization line continues while the original is on the bench.
04Can I rent more than one unit?
Yes. Tell us your unit count, formats and expected volume in the inquiry. The Fleet Maintenance Plan has volume pricing for 5+ customer-owned decks.
05Do I need an account or to pay online?
No. The website collects an inquiry only. We reply with availability and terms, and invoicing happens by email.
06Where do you ship?
Within the United States. Outbound shipping is included in the first month and swap-in units ship at our cost.
Repair and diagnostics
01Do you work on customer-owned decks?
Yes. Use the repair intake to tell us what you have, what it is doing and what you need back on the line. Every job starts with a $95 bench diagnostic, credited toward the repair when you approve the work.
02How much does repair cost?
The $95 diagnostic is credited toward the repair. Preventive service starts at $195 plus parts. Mechanical and electronic repair starts at $295 plus parts and is quoted after diagnosis. Nothing beyond the diagnostic happens without your approval.
03How long does a repair take?
Diagnostics are typically completed within 5 business days of receipt. Repair time depends on the fault, parts availability and complexity, so we give you an expected return date with your quote.
04What if the deck cannot be repaired?
You pay only the diagnostic fee, any extended diagnostic time you approved, and return shipping. You can also leave the deck with us for parts. We will talk through rental options where available.
Fleet Maintenance Plan
01What does the Fleet Maintenance Plan include?
Two preventive services per year, a waived diagnostic fee on enrolled decks, a priority diagnostic queue, 10% off repair labor and a service history for every enrolled deck, for $399 per deck per year. Parts, shipping and major repair labor are not included. Volume pricing is available for 5+ decks.
02Does it cover rented decks?
No. The plan is for customer-owned decks. Rented decks are maintained under their rental agreement.
