What you get

An inspected Sony SL-2700 with a serviced transport, power cable, routine wear coverage and swap-in support. Composite and stereo audio outputs for capture.

02

How the rental works

Inquire with your dates and volume, we confirm availability, you pay the first month and deposit, and the deck ships in a few business days.

03

When to rent instead of buy

Rent when Betamax is occasional work, when you want a known-good reference deck alongside your own, or when a client backlog justifies a season of coverage.

Full FAQ
01Do you rent Betacam SP decks?

Not yet. Join the waitlist on the Betacam SP format page and we will contact you when a serviced deck is available.

02Is Betamax the same as Betacam?

No. Betamax is the consumer format; Betacam and Betacam SP are professional broadcast formats that use similar-looking cassettes but incompatible recordings. You need a Betacam deck for Betacam tapes.

03Which Beta speed are most tapes recorded at?

Beta II and Beta III. The SL-2700 plays Beta I, II and III, so it covers almost every consumer tape you will see.
